Build Memories With ‘LEGO Icons — The Lord Of The Rings: Minas Tirith’
by Anton Kromoff
Welcome to the table,
In celebration of The Lord of the Rings 25th Anniversary, LEGO is releasing an 8,278-piece recreation of the iconic White City of Minas Tirith. This impressive build includes a hybrid microscale and minifigure-scale design and features key locations, including the citadel and throne room.

In addition to existing in both scales — seemingly by the magic that only LEGO can conjure–this set also comes with absolute iconic minifigures like Gandalf the White, Aragorn as King Elessar, and fan favorite Faramir, along with the legendary horse Shadowfax. There is also Denethor, Peregrin Took, Arwen, and four soldiers of Gondor, along with themed accessories such as Gondorian helmets, shields, and Aragorn’s crown.

It is so impressive that this set is the hybrid-scale design. When the build is closed, it feels like a highly detailed microscale cityscape ready to defend itself against the dark forces of Middle-earth.

However, when you open it up, the interior scenes have key settings spaces like the throne room of the citadel, and the study. This is a substantial build and can serve as both a display build and a play build, really bringing some versatility to how you utilize it in your space.

These large builds are always so charming. I know so many LEGO enthusiasts who would sit and meticulously build this on their own. I also know a handful more who would plan a whole weekend around getting together and building this while watching the films with family and friends; one of those weekends with themed snacks and stories of reading the books as kids or listening to the audiobooks before bed every night.
These are the kinds of sets that really feel like LEGO has community and the collector in mind at the same time, providing enough ways to engage that everyone involved can find something to enjoy.

It also seems from the images LEGO provided that there are a ton of cool little hidden bits to this build that really resonate with me as a fan of The Lord of the Rings, and that probably means there are even more waiting to be discovered as this set is coming together.
