Hasbro Announces ‘The Transformers: The Movie’ Reformatted Soundtrack

Can you believe this year marks the 40th year anniversary of The Transformers: The Movie? To celebrate the occasion, Hasbro has many exciting plans lined up. The first of which: the release of The Transformers: The Movie: The Soundtrack: The Reformatted Edition.
It is a re-imagined soundtrack of the animated film created in collaboration with record label Reigning Phoenix Music. The album will be released on July 24th, 2026 on both major streaming platforms and on various physical formats, including a limited edition vinyl record. It contains 10 re-recorded tracks from the movie.
The first single off of the album is “The Touch” which brings back Stan Bush, the original voice of the track from 40 years ago. The song, along with every other one on the soundtrack, involve new production techniques that help maintain the spirit of the 1980s while making the sound seem revolutionary. Bush also provides vocals on the song “Dare!.”
The album performances are led by the group The Knights of Unicron. It is composed of musicians Gus Rios, Matt Harvey, and Ross Sewage. Special guest appearances include former singer of Skid Row and solo artist Sebastian Bach for a special rendition of “Nothin’s Gonna Stand in Our Way”, power metal artist Brittney Slayes from Unleash The Archers for an electric version of “The Transformers (Theme)”, and other new exciting re-recordings from Mark Osegueda (Kerry King, Death Angel), Francesco Cavalieri (Wind Rose, V.B.O.), and Cold Slither’s own Torch.
