Blasts From The Past: New ‘Star Wars: Droids’ Black Series Figures Releasing This Summer

Hasbro has drawn on the present with their Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu line for both the Black Series and the Vintage collection. With their most recent collection, the toy company goes back over 40 years for inspiration.
The latest additions to the Black Series are figures that resemble characters from the 1985 animated series Star Wars: Droids. Each figure is packaged in Kenner-inspired boxes and even contain a plastic collector coin engraved with the character’s name and portrait. All four are currently up for pre-order on Hasbro Pulse, and are expected to arrive this summer.
Everyone’s favorite astromech droid is one of the leads from the cartoon. Artoo-Detoo (R2-D2) comes with his various tool accessories.
R2’s partner in crime is a familiar protocol droid. See-Threepio (C-3PO) is colored a different shade than the live-action versions and the blue adds a distinctive touch.
Since Droids was set prior to the Original Trilogy, the Galactic Empire is still in power and have an army of goons to enforce its will throughout the galaxy. The Imperial Stormtrooper is equipped with an electrostaff and blaster accessories.
Finally, there is a Droids-inspired figure of the most feared bounty hunters in the galaxy: Boba Fett. He comes with his blaster accessory and a pretty nifty cape.
