Rom The Space Knight Makes A Surprise Return In Skybound’s ‘M.A.S.K.’ #1 Blind Bags

Ever the showman, and always looking to surprise fans, Robert Kirkman and Skybound/Image Comics, in collaboration with Hasbro, have revealed the first appearance of cult icon Rom in the Energon Universe with M.A.S.K. #1 Blind Bag program, out today in comic book stores, and in his very own comic! That’s right, folks, Rom finally makes his debut into the Energon Universe, as Void Rivals co-creators, writer Kirkman and artist Lorenzo De Felici, reunite for Rom #1.
Here’s Kirkman with more on this surprise, fan-pleasing reveal:
“Nothing is more exciting to me than an unexpected comic drop! Getting to a store and finding out a brand-new book exists is just the coolest thing. The only thing that could make it better … is if it was Rom! Rom is such an iconic character with a rich history spanning decades. He’s been a constant request for the Energon Universe. Getting to develop him for the Energon Universe alongside my pal Lorenzo De Felici was an absolute blast and I can’t wait for fans to see our long-range plans for the character! Rom! Woo!!”
And here’s the synopsis:
“Fans can expect to see more of Rom and his alien companion ‘Carpet’ as the search for Dire Wraiths continues in the coming issues of Void Rivals!”

As for what you’ll get in the M.A.S.K. #1 Blind Bags, there’s the chance to find any of the solicited covers (A through to K), an issue of Rom #1, as well as two equally rare Energon Universe comic: M.A.S.K. Origins #1, reprinting and collecting the first appearances of M.A.S.K. & V.E.N.O.M. in the Energon Universe or a foil cover advanced edition of M.A.S.K. #2.
