The First Two Issues Of Dynamite’s ‘Ben 10’ Head Back To The Presses

by Erik Amaya

Ben 10 just received new powers: second and third printings.

Dynamite announced Friday that the first two issues of their Ben 10 comic book are headed back to the presses as the initial production runs have sold out at the distributor level. That includes the second printing of the premiere issue, which will soon be available again as a third printing while issue #2 receives its second run. Both will come with a new cover by series artist Robert Carey.

The new series reunites the original Man of Action team — Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, Duncan Rouleau, and Steven T. Seagle — for what Casey calls a “new approach with a revamped origin story, a straightforward, action-oriented take on Ben Tennyson and his adventures.” Now set in the 2020s, Ben encounters the Omnitrix while on a family vacation. It gives him familiar powers, but this new version of the origin includes an expanded scale and scope of pivotal moments, including “a range of ‘real world” implications with “the military getting peripherally involved and a bona fide alien threat.” While Carey takes the reins of the first story arc, other Man of Action creators will take point on writing on subsequent tales.

The new printings of Ben 10 #1 and #2 will available soon.
