Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez – art and pages from Twilight (1990)

This was a series written by Howard Chaykin, pulling in all of DC’s space hero types. One of those things that rather got lost in the cracks of comics history. Chaykin had already done revamps of The Shadow (1985) and Blackhawk (1987), both successful. But this was a reimagining of the mostly forgotten old space heroes littering DC’s history. You know, those not-so-household names like Tommy Tomorrow, the Star Rovers, Star Hawkins, and Space Cabbie.

But it’s actually a bloody good read. One of those that doesn’t get talked about too much, but perhaps should.

And damn, Garcia-Lopez just draws so beautifully …
