Trailer Watch: ‘Klara And The Sun’

Directed by Taika Waititi (JoJo Rabbit) and starring Jenna Ortega (Wednesday), Klara and the Sun is an adaptation of the novel by Kazuo Ishiguro. Ortega plays Klara, an artificial friend who tries to heal the fraught relationship between Josie (Mia Tharia) and her mother (Amy Adams). Given that AI has gone from a science fiction concept to a contemporary concern, I expect we’re going to see many more films exploring the topic. Thankfully, Waititi has a track record for maintaining charm and humanity in his filmography.
Klara and the Sun will be coming to theaters October 23rd.
