Lara Croft’s Surprise ‘G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero’ #330 Appearance Sells Out Guaranteeing A Second Printing

The sudden appearance of Lara Croft in yesterday’s G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #330 probably caught most fans by surprise, but not everyone, as Skybound, Image,  Hasbro, and video game developer Crystal Dynamics have announced that this issue has sold out. But only at the distribution level. So, if you’re quick, you could get your hands on a copy at your local comic book store. And if you don’t, there’s always the inevitable second printing you can pick up next month. This issue also heralds the start of the first-ever Tomb Raider/G.I. Joe crossover event coming this October.

Speaking if this shock drop, Alex Antone, Editorial Director, Skybound, said:

Joe: A Real American Hero under wraps, but now that the cat is out of the bag, we can’t wait to show you what’s next for the Tomb Raider! This issue saw the first appearance of Lara Croft as she “infiltrated Castle Destro in search of her next deadly destination! This marks the first time ever that the worlds of G.I. Joe and Tomb Raider have met in comic book history.”

Then, in October, Lara Croft’s search for Cobra Island intensifies in G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero/Tomb Raider #1, a 5-issue limited series from the writer Kyle Higgins, artist Elena Casagrande, colourist Alex Guimarães, and letterer Pat Brosseau.

G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #330 Second Printing is out on Wednesday, 12th August, 2026, with G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero/Tomb Raider #1 out on Wednesday, 7th October, 2026.
