It’s just a shock the pair haven’t met before.
On Thursday, Dynamite and UDON Entertainment announced the forthcoming Vampirella vs. Darkstalkers. Written by Tim Seeley with art courtesy of Drax Gal, it is a crossover of East meeting West, and the Daughter of Drakulon meeting a certain beloved lady demon from the famed video game series.
It all begins as Vampi hunts a “a soul-sucking succubus whose habits defy those of earthbound fiends.” Morrigan, meanwhile, has been sneaking away from Makai to New York so she can “indulge in the delicious dreams and souls of lowly humans.” Being at cross-purposes, the two engage in a game of cat-and-mouse even as they recognize a certain kinship with one another. But what happens when they realize they are both the quarry of Baby Bonnie Hood?
“I love crossovers, which I’m sure doesn’t surprise anyone,” Seeley said in a statement. “And I especially love ones that can unexpectedly delight, and come out of nowhere. Vampi vs Morrigan is all of those things, with the added bonus of being sexy, and drawn by Drax Gal. It’s vampiress anti-heroines from games, comics, modern and retro, mashing it up with lots of teeth and skin.”
Supporting the crossover one-shot are covers from Gal, Lucio Parrillo, Francesco Mattina, Björn Barends, and Joseph Michael Linsner. Blind bags with special exclusive variants will also be available.
Vampirella vs. Darkstalkers is due out this Fall.
