SDCC 2026: Dynamite’s ‘Supernatural’ Splits Sam And Dean Into Their Own Comics

The Winchesters are going their separate ways.

In anticipation of Comic-Con International: San Diego, Dynamite announced Monday the imminent launch of two Supernatural comic books building on the events of the current singular series and September’s Supernatural: Wayward special.

In the aftermath, Sam and Dead Winchester must split up with Supernatural: Sam Winchester and Supernatural: Dean Winchester each focusing on the eponymous brother as each solves cases by their lonesomes. The former is written by Wayward scribe Paulina Ganucheau with by Kendall Goode and sees Sam “drawn to an abandoned town deep in the heart of Appalachia. Guided by cryptic phone calls, he finds himself wrapped up in a mystery as old as the mountains themselves. Will the ancient eldritch horrors overtake this Winchester?”

“Supernatural is something that is a part of my DNA,” Ganucheau in a statement. “So getting this opportunity is a treasure. I can’t wait to take readers and Sam along on an isolatingly perilous journey of tears and horrors.”

Dean comes courtesy of writer Chuck Brown and artist Rapha Lobosco. In it, Dean makes his way to New Orleans during Mardi Gras in the hope of solving a case his father never could. Oh, and dealing with the grief from Wayward in a way only he can.

“I’ve been a fan of Supernatural since day one,” Brown said. “Writing Dean is going to be wild as he revisits his past case down south.” The book is supported by covers from Lobosco and Marguerite Sauvage, plus a pair of photo covers. The Sam title gets from Ganucheau and Goode and two photo covers focusing on Sam.

Although on their own, the Winchesters — and their comics — are still intertwined. Fans will learn more when both titles arrive in October.
