The Micronauts’ Baron Karza Makes His Surprise Debut To The Energon Universe In ‘M.A.S.K.’ #3

by Olly MacNamee

It’s the end of the day, and Skybound has spoiled the ending of their own comic book with the announcement that The Micronauts’ enemy, Baron Karza, makes a surprise appearance in today’s M.A.S.K. #3 by writer Dan Watters, artist Pye Parr, colourist Pierluigi Casolino, and letterer Rus Wooton. But then, this is the internet, so I know this news has been around for a few days courtesy of the type of websites that are happy to spoil comics for clicks. But not us.

But when Skybound, Image and Hasbro feel they have to do damage control by sending out their own PR, then it’s a green light to publish. And give anyone out there due warning to grab a copy while you can. This one has second printing written all over it. And, that;s exactly the plan, according to Executive Editor Ben Abernathy:

“The record-setting launch of M.A.S.K. shocked and delighted fans, and we’re continuing the exciting momentum with the reprint of this monumental third issue. With the introduction of the mysterious Baron Karza, who knows what could happen next!”

Already having surprised readers with the introduction of ROM into the Energon Universe, it looks like M.A.S.K. is the series to keep an eye on for further shock revelations, and maybe more Micronauts in future issues.

M.A.S.K. #3 is out now, if you can find a copy.
