Image Comics’ ‘Chachu’ #1 And ‘If Destruction Be Our Lot’ #1-3 Rushed Back To Print

Image Comics tends to reorder additional printings of many of its titles. And this Monday morning we bring you news of four recent books going back to print. First, Chuachu #1 from actor/writer Iman Vellani  Chachu #1, artist Marianna Ignazzi (Exquisite Corpses, Self Help) and colourist Jordie Bellaire (Absolute Wonder Woman, Redlands), which will get a second printing having sold out at the distribution level. A neo-noir thriller set in 1979 Hollywood and somewhat semi-autobiographical:

“Set in 1979, Chachu follows Leila, a 19-year-old Pakistani-Canadian girl with a penchant for film and pulp novels, who travels to California hoping to connect with her estranged uncle — her “Chachu” — a middle-aged, semi-retired private eye once famous for marrying the starlet he was initially hired to find. But when his wife mysteriously vanishes once again, the two are forced on an impromptu road trip investigation that transforms her first taste of adulthood into a thrilling confrontation of family secrets, unresolved grief, and the fantasies both she and Chachu have built their lives around.”

Chachu #1, second printing is out on Wednesday, 2nd September.

Then there’s a three published issues of If Destruction Be Our Lot by co-writers Matthew Rosenberg (We’re Taking Everyone Down With Us, 4 Kids Walk Into A Bank) and Mark Elijah Rosenberg (Approaching the Unknown, Year Million), artist Andy MacDonald (Doctor Strange, Wonder Woman), colourist Francesco Segala, and letterer Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou’. Image Comics will be reprinting issues #1-3 for a September release with new cover art by MacDonald.

“In If Destruction Be Our Lot, humanity is extinct and all that remains are the robots who once helped us.The robots are happier now, doing their work without human interference. But not Abe, a robotic replicant of Abraham Lincoln in search of meaning beyond the daily grind. Abe believes there must be something more out there beyond the edge of the city. After nearly getting killed, he’s determined to wander the Earth until he finds it … or gets recycled trying.”
