Marvel Comics Returns To Duckberg In November With ‘Uncle Scrooge: A Christmas Carol’

He’s one of the most legendary heroes in pop culture, and in November, Scrooge McDuck’s Marvel Comics adventures continue in Uncle Scrooge: A Christmas Carol.
The extra sized one-shot will tell an all new holiday adventure with the world’s richest duck. The story is written by Marvel Comics legend Louise Simonson with a cover by her husband (and equally a legend) Walt Simonson with interior art by a superstar lineup of Disney artists including Fabio Celoni, Francesco D’Ippolito, Paolo Mottura, and Marco Mazzarello.
After choosing riches over family, friends, and holiday cheer, Scrooge has found himself all alone on Christmas eve. Three separate supernatural adventures will force him to discover the treasures that really matter.
“Uncle Scrooge, Donald, and the kids were the heroes in some of my favorite stories when I was a kid—in fact, the Duck books were the only comics I ever had a subscription to,” Simonson shared. “I loved their humor, their conflicts, and their quirky personalities and writing my own Uncle Scrooge: A Christmas Carol was a dream come true.”
With a name like Scrooge, of course he’s been on numerous holiday adventures. His first appearance was in a story titled Christmas on Bear Mountain and his first animated appearance was in the now-classic Mickey’s Christmas Carol. My personal favorites are the DuckTales 2017 episodes, which included Scrooge going on a bender with Dickens’ ghosts of Christmas, and a rivalry with Santa Claus himself.
Between that, and Simonson’s obvious love of Duckberg, I’m excited for this one.
