‘Backrooms’ To Add A Creepy Vibe On HBO Max In September

The theatrical sensation Backrooms can finally be seen in all its liminal glory in the liminal space that is HBO Max. As the service announced recently, it will be available on the platform September 25th. But unlike the creepy abandoned hallways that inspired the film, HBO Max repopulates its passages with new or returning material on the regular. As proof: several of Stanley Kubrick‘s films return on September 1st after a tour of other platforms. These selections include A Clockwork Orange, Full Metal Jacket, and Eyes Wide Shut, all noted Warner Bros. releases after the filmmaker began his long association with the studio. Other films worth your attention next month include both of Joe Dante‘s Gremlins pictures, horror films like Carrie and several Final Destination movies, and the must-watch Errol Flynn pirate movie The Sea Hawk. Yes, it’s from 1940, but it is absolutely great.
