Lopez approaches BoredSpace by taking familiar pressure points like money, obligation, survival, and fear, then pushing them through a science-fiction lens until everything gets stranger. Crime fiction, space opera, and dark comedy all have a place here, but there’s always something human underneath; even when the universe is dangerous, everyone wants something, and a cheap plastic necklace can ruin your entire week.
