Luana Vecchio Creates A Series Of Connecting Covers For Skybound’s ‘Universal Monsters: The Bride Of Frankenstein Lives’

Luana Vecchio (Lovesick) had created four interconnecting covers for the forthcoming Skybound/Image Comics series, Universal Monsters: The Bride of Frankenstein Lives, from writer Kelly Thompson (Absolute Wonder Woman, Black Widow) and artist Mattia De Iulis (Absolute Wonder Woman, The Cull), with the first issue out next month.

“Here comes the Bride … Born in the heart of a thunderstorm, made of stolen flesh, electricity, and monstrous desperation, The Bride lives! 

With no memory of her past or understanding of what she is, The Bride took her first steps into the world and was … displeased. Now, she must discover where and who she came from and begin what every living thing begins…the process of staying alive.” 

As for, Vecchio … here’s her statement:

“I’m incredibly grateful not only for the opportunity to contribute to a franchise as monumental as Universal Monsters, but for the chance to give my own contribution to such an iconic character as the Bride of Frankenstein. I felt I was the right person to do her justice, but when I read Kelly’s pitch and reached the ending, with a few tears in my eyes, I realized I was contributing to something truly special. Creating this connecting cover is my way of paying tribute not only to the story of an iconic character, but above all to the story of a woman who is trying to recover her own story and, first and foremost, to reclaim it.”

Universal Monsters: The Bride of Frankenstein Lives #1 (of 4) is out on Wednesday, 28th October, 2026, from Skybound.
