Star Wars: The Screaming Citadel Will Bring Doctor Aphra Into Crossover Event

Marvel has announced that their main Star Wars title and the Star Wars: Doctor Aphra series will crossover this summer in Star Wars: The Screaming Citadel. The female Doctor Aphra character has had a quick rise in fandom for a “new” character created by Kieron Gillen and Salvador Larocca in the Vader series who then moved on to her solo title due to fan support for this “rogue archaeologist”.
The five part series bringing her further into the limelight alongside legacy Star Wars characters will kick off in May and be written by Kieron Gillen and Jason Aaron, with art by Salvador Larroca, Marco Checchetto, and Andrea Broccardo. The first three parts of the crossover will be found in the following titles on sale in May: Star Wars: The Screaming Citadel #1, Star Wars #31, and Star Wars: Doctor Aphra #7.
Here’s the official teaser plot for the crossover:
Rebel pilot and rogue archaeologist wander side-by-side into the darkest corners of the galaxy as Luke Skywalker reluctantly teams with Doctor Aphra! The good Doctor has an offer for this flyboy farm boy – help her, and she’ll provide him with information crucial on his quest to become a Jedi. With an offer he can’t refuse on the table, this unlikely duo finds themselves deep into the heart of the infamous Screaming Citadel! Can Luke find what he’s looking for? Can Aphra be trusted? Or will the Citadel’s Queen and the dark forces lurking within make their journey a one-way trip?!
