Dark Horse Manga has a long history with Kentaro Miura’s best-selling series Berserk, going back over 25 years, to 2003. Now the series is reaching its 38th volume and will be published once more in July 2017. Fans have been waiting three years for this volume by the creator of Giganto Maxia and King of Wolves. This longest running seinen series in North America has sold over 1.2 million copies so far.
Adult horror with emotional notes, this new volume will bring main character Guts, the Black Swordsman, to the isle of Skellig, hoping that elven magic can cure Casca. The price may be higher than they wish to pay. Meanwhile, Rickert journeys to Falconia and into contact with Griffith, the resurrected former Hawks commander. Falconia is a dark place, though, and “demonic monstrosities” are on the way.
