Z2’s Next OGN With Soundtrack – Paul Oakenfold’s The Wonderful World Of Perfecto

Building on their recent publication of original graphic novels and collected stories with soundtracks by major musicians, Z2 Comics have announced a new upcoming work in The Wonderful World of Perfecto, which will feature the work of Paul Oakenfold and friends.
Paul Oakenfold is one of the progenitors of electronic music, a platinum selling artist and a DJ of great renown, and in this original graphic novel he’ll tell the “not quite true” story of his life for the first time.
Oakenfold is collaborating with a crew of indie graphic novel artists, including Tyler Boss (4 Kids Walk Into a Bank, Chris Hunt (Carver), Ian McGinty (Welcome to Showside) and Koren Shadmi (The Abaddon) for The Wonderful World of Perfecto: With Paul Oakenfold and Friends. The book will be published on November 21, 2017.
To accompany the graphic novel, Oakenfold is composing an original soundtrack which will only be available with the purchase of the graphic novel.
2017 marks the 30 year anniversary of Paul Oakenfold’s trip to Ibiza which sparked the creation of club culture as well as his DJ’ing career and he’s ready to tell his story. Each of the artists collaborating with Oakenfold will illustrate a different time period in the DJ’s life, from his residency at Cream to drinking absinthe with Hunter S. Thompson and touring with U2.
Oakenfold says:
I am honored and excited to be a part of the first electronic music graphic novel. Being a fan of comic books for many years, I enjoyed telling my story in this context which shows things in a different light.
This month, Z2 will also be releasing Murder Ballads, a rock’n’roll noir graphic novel about the music industry and redemption by writer Gabe Soria and artists Paul Reinwand and Chris Hunt, and that book’s original soundtrack will feature music by bluesman Robert Finley and Grammy-Award winner Dan Auerbach.
Z2 Comics Co-Publisher Josh Frankel explains:
Our goal is to work closely with musicians and graphic novel creators to create a unique experience, where the music informs the narrative of the graphic novel and vice versa.
The Wonderful World of Perfecto: With Paul Oakenfold and Friends will be on sale in comic book stores and bookstore on November 21, 2017 and will retail for $24.99.
