Ahead of the Warner Bros. Television presentation at New York Comic Con today comes word that the Berlantiverse Constantine has been released from Hell.
Comicbook.com reports actor Matt Ryan will appear in a third season episode of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow as John Constantine. They are unsure when he will appear, but one imagines it will coincidence with the debut of CW Seed’s animated Constantine series featuring the voice of Ryan as the lovable con man and magician.
Ryan starred as Constantine in the short-lived 2014 NBC series and returned to the role for a guest spot in the fourth season of Arrow. At the time, it was said Ryan’s return would be a one-off as the character was held in reserve for the Justice League Dark film. Arrow even made a joke about it in subsequent episodes, suggesting Constantine was stuck in Hell.
Of course, he could still be in Hell. The Legends may visit him earlier in his personal timeline or, perhaps, their efforts will release him from damnation.
Legends of Tomorrow begins its third season on The CW this Tuesday.
