NYCC ’17: Dark Horse To Publish Final Fantasy Ultimania Archive In Three Volumes

by Hannah Means Shannon

During New York Comic Con this week, Dark Horse and Square Enix have announced a team-up on launching the first of three books that will follow the artwork and history of the developer’s first six games in their major franchise, Final Fantasy.

Final Fantasy Ultimania Archive is a journey through the creation of the roleplaying epic, appearing in a licensed book for the first time.
This first volume of the Archives will contain original concept art, process pieces, and notes from the original artists and designers chronicling the creation of the games. With over over three hundred pages of content collected in hard-cover binding, Final Fantasy Ultimania Archive Volume 1 is said to remain “faithful to its original Japanese source material while simultaneously offering unparalleled accessibility for Western readers”.
Final Fantasy Ultimania Archive Volume 1 will go on sale on June 5th, 2018 and is available for preorder at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Things From Another World, and your local comic shop.
