Benedict Wong Joins Deadly Class As Cast Is Revealed

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Doctor Strange scene stealer Benedict Wong will join the cast of Syfy’s Deadly Class.
The potential series, based on the comic book by Rick Remender and Wes Craig, is set at an assassins’ academy filled with the children of mobsters and murderers. The early issues told the tale of Marcus Lopez, a kid from the streets with a lot of issues to address, but expanded to other students as the series continued. The television version will also focus on Marcus (Benjamin Wadsworth), described by THR as an “awkward outcast full of social anxiety” but “morally centered” as he enters the school. His goal: maintaining his moral code while surviving a ruthless curriculum, vicious social cliques, and his own adolescent uncertainties.
Wong will play the school’s headmaster, Master Lin while Lana Condor, Maria Gabriela de Faria, Luke Tennie, Liam James, and Michel Duval round out the student body Marcus will have to contend with as he acclimates to his new situation.
And if the premise or Wong’s presence isn’t enough to get you interested, THR mentions — almost as a footnote — that Henry Rollins will recur on the series if Syfy picks it up.
With its cast assembled, Deadly Class will likely go into production early in the new year.
