Danger Girl may finally be making it to the big screen.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the former Wildstorm comic book has been optioned by Constantin Films, makers of the Resident Evil films.
Created by J. Scott Campbell and writer Andy Hartnell, Danger Girl centers on Abbey Chase, a treasure hunter and reluctant spy who who aids a secret organization in making precious antiquities safe from a criminal outfit known as The Hammer Syndicate. With its mix of adventure and spy thrills, it was hit comic book, spawning a poorly received video game.
The title was previously optioned by New Line, with director Stephen Norrington attached to direct. But that deal ultimately fell though. Adrian Askarieh’s Prime Universe Films eventually picked up the option and will produce the new project alongside Constantin Films. It is unclear how quickly a film or TV version of Danger Girl will materialize as the producers are only beginning to develop the concept for the screen.
