Derek Jacoby To Become Good Omens’ Metatron

 

Sir Derek Jacoby, the modern chorus in Kenneth Branagh’s Henry V and The Master on Doctor Who for forty minutes until he became John Simm, will add the upcoming Good Omens to his CV as he takes on the role of Metatron.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the part is described as “The Voice of God. But not the voice of God. An entity in its own right. Rather like a Presidential spokesman.” A description which fits in well with a series based on the novel by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.
The book and series focuses on Crowley (David Tennant), the original Eden serpent, and Aziraphale (Michael Sheen), the Guardian of the East Gate of Heaven, as they seek out the Antichrist while the world heads into its final hours of tribulation. Their aim is to halt the End of All Things as they’ve come to enjoy their lives in the United Kingdom. Meanwhile, the Antichrist grows up in a quiet Oxfordshire town.
Jon Hamm will also appear as the Archangel Gabriel in the series, which is expected to debut on Amazon next year.
