A New Power Ranger To Debut In Boom’s Shattered Grid Event, Plus Interior Art Reveal

by James Ferguson

Power Rangers: Shattered Grid is fast approaching from Boom! Studios and Saban Brands. Each new announcement shows just how big this event will be. Everything is set to kick off in March and we’ve just received a glimpse of what to expect in May’s issues, including a mysterious new Ranger that arrives to challenge the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers on their own turf. This is the last thing the team needs as Lord Drakkon – the evil alternate-reality version of Tommy Oliver – is growing more and more powerful and he’s fighting Power Rangers teams from across history.

The new Ranger will be introduced in Go Go Power Rangers #9 from writer Ryan Parrott and artist Dan Mora. Who is under the helmet? Why did they come back in time to target the Power Rangers during their early days as heroes? And what connection do they have with Lord Drakkon? This issue will feature a main cover by Mora and variant covers by Miguel Mercado, Audrey Mok, and Natacha Bustos.
If you’re keeping count at home, this is the latest in an ever-growing line of new Power Rangers introduced in the comics. We’ve already seen Lord Drakkon, the Power Rangers team of 1969, and the Green Psycho Ranger.
In other Power Rangers: Shattered Grid news, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #27 from writer Kyle Higgins and artist Daniele di Nicuolo picks up with Lord Drakkon as his power and influence continues to grow. The Power Rangers must work with new allies from across time and dimensions, including other Ranger teams like Time Force, RPM, and Samurai to come up with a plan to fight back…but is it too late? This issue will feature a main cover by Jamal Campbell and variant covers by Jordan Gibson and Carlos Villa.
