The Enlightenment is nearly at hand. DeVoe (Neil Sandilands) has all the meta powers he needs, a nuclear meta safely secured at an A.R.G.U.S. black site and Team Flash hurting from all the recent losses. But as this preview of next week’s The Flash reveals, he still needs a lot of tech to complete his device and will go through anyone, even a suddenly returned Gypsy (Jessica Camacho) to get the equipment and fulfill his plans.
And it seems his Enlightenment appears to be a simple stripping of human emotions from everyone on the planet. Which should’ve been obvious from the get-go. A man so wrapped up in “pure thought” will always want to be rid of emotions and end up blindsided by them. I suppose that means it will ultimately be Marlize’s (Kim Engelbrecht) job to end him.
Meanwhile, nice to see Gypsy is returning after a long absence. Unfortunately, it looks like she may not be with the team for much longer as death and emotional tolls are the currency of the show right now with Ralph dead, Harry running headlong into idiocy and Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) desperately attempting to reconnect with Killer Frost. Why not give Cisco (Carlos Valdes) a hurt as well? Although, doing so would bring the show perilously close to a legit fridging. That’s definitely something it needs to avoid right now.
The Flash airs Tuesdays on The CW.
