Preacher Season 3 Teaser Offers First Look At Gran’ma And The Last Scion

Preacher is playing with fire in its third season.
But it seems to know as much as it released this short season 3 teaser recently with seemingly all the cast assembling for a portrait outside the Angelville gates. While stars Dominic Cooper, Ruth Negga and Joseph Gilgun take the center positions as Jesse Custer, Tulip and Cassidy, they are flanked by returning characters like Eugene (Ian Colletti) and newcomers like Betty Buckley’s Gran’ma, Colin Cunningham’s T.C. and Jonny Coyne as Allfather D’Aronique of The Grail. But if you look closely at his side, you’ll see a portrait of a confused young man with a unibrow. That is the unmistakable likeness of The Grail’s last scion.
Horribly inbred to preserve a very special bloodline, the last scion is intended to lead The Grail, but in the pages of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s Preacher, it becomes obvious to Herr Starr (played by Pip Torrens on the series) that the boy is in no shape to lead a chicken dinner. The conclusion to that story is one of the most profane and hilarious moments in all of Preacher. If the show commits to the key details of the story, it may finally court the show some real controversy when audiences discover who the last scion’s ancestor is supposed to be.
Which makes me all the more anxious to see the show when it debuts on June 24th.
