Walk With Pride: Dr. Martens Reveals The Tie-Dye Pride Boot For 2018

by Hannah Means Shannon

The iconic boot and shoe company Dr. Martens have an excellent tradition building of releasing a new specially featured boot design each year for Gay Pride month and marches. Throughout the months of May and June, people will be gearing up for marches that are traditionally held on the last Saturday in June, but events now stretch throughout June. Last year, their new rainbow release featured a benday-dot-like pattern.

This year they’re going psychedelic, baby, with tie-dye. And they look awesome. Not only that, but they have a “hidden message” in their see-through bouncing soles. In fact, the entire notion in selling the boots is not just to represent, but to benefit the Trevor Project, a national organization focused on crisis intervention and suicide prevention for LGBTQ youth.
Here are some shots of those boots, which retail for $145.00 and have free shipping through the company’s website:

Wow, these boots are on fire. Seriously. They’ve really outdone themselves this year.
Dr. Martens says:

Although it’s been proudly worn by individuals as a symbol of rebellious self-expression for nearly 60 years, the instantly recognizable 1460 boot hasn’t changed much. This season, the 1460 boot takes on the color of the Pride flag in a tie-dye inspired print, with a rainbow-branded sock-liner and a hidden message on the sole. Because whatever your color, creed, sexual orientation, musical tastes, passions or beliefs, Dr. Martens is proud to celebrate inclusivity and diversity.
A portion of the proceeds from our Pride collection goes to the Trevor Project, a national organization focused on crisis intervention and suicide prevention for LGBTQ youth.
