Select Target Locations Will Start Carrying Wizkids ‘Dungeons & Dragons’ Minis
by Anton Kromoff
Welcome to the table,
There was a time in my life when I could have never imagined the information I’m about to give you. The feeling I get when type this out is what I imagine those guys playing football get when they win the big game.
Target is getting WizKids Dungeons & Dragons minis.
That’s right, friends! The same place where you can buy your seasonal gummy bats and your household goods is now also going to have three WizKids D&D Icons of the Realms miniatures boosters. At select Target locations, you will be able to pick up minis from the 50th Anniversary set, the Fizban’s Treasury of Dragons set, and the Monster Menagerie 2 set.
Target will be offering these in single booster box format rather than big bricks, but if they are on the shelf you can buy as many as you want. Each booster box contains 4 minis, 1 larger mini, and 3 medium or small minis.
I’m beyond thrilled. This is a huge step into the mainstream for one of my all-time favorite brands. The move brings miniatures to an accessible store. This allows new gamers who may not be able to get their parents to take them to a local gaming shop, or people like myself who do not always have access to accessible gaming stores the ability to grab a few boxes while we are out shopping for our regular sundries.
Seeing Dungeons & Dragons get a space on the shelf alongside the more mainstream toys feels like such a win in my book. We survived, we thrived, and now we can buy our beautiful bits of plastic right alongside everyone else at the Target.
My heart is full. WizKids have some of the coolest, kindest people on the planet and D&D is such a warm and welcoming hobby. It’s so cool to see these fantastic miniatures from these fantastic people coming to a store like Target.
Until next time, it really does feel like we are all starting to get a seat at the table.
