Mondo Releases Luke Cage Season 2 Score On Coloured Vinyl
by Olly MacNamee
It won’t have passed your attention that last Friday, the 22nd of June that a second series of Luke Cage dropped on Netflix and by the time you read this many of you will have already finished watching the whole series. But what next, to fill that void left when one does binge a show, only to realise it’ll be a god 12 months, at least, till a new series comes around again?
Well, the good people at Mondo Music have released Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad’s score from the series on evocative ‘smokey translucent yellow vinyl’, available now on Mondo.
Here’s more on its production:
Recorded in the winter of 2018 in Los Angeles, California, at Blakeslee Studios and Linear Labs Studios, by composers Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad – the score to LUKE CAGE Season Two is just as epic and powerful as the first. Exploring the vast sonic cultural landscape of Harlem, Adrian and Ali have introduced a dub-reggae motif for the character of Bushmaster on top of the classic themes that made the original soundtrack so essential.
