Cassady McClincy Joins The Walking Dead As

The Walking Dead cast continues to grow even as other depart.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Love, Simon‘s Cassady McClincy has joined the cast in a recurring capacity as Lydia, daughter of Whisperer leader Alpha (Samantha Morton). The character’s arc in the comic series will likely remain on the printed page as Lydia became friendly with Carl Grimes. The character, played by Chandler Riggs, died during the eighth season of the television show.
The show is also preparing for larger changes as star Andrew Lincoln departs the series, setting up a world without Rick Grimes’ style of leadership as the factions around Alexandria continue their uneasy alliance. But perhaps Norman Reedus’s Daryl Dixon will step up and become the leader the region will need once Rick is well and truly gone.
The Walking Dead returns October 7th on AMC.
