Next Week’s Black Lightning Sees Jennifer And Jefferson Confronting The Truth

As teased during the dinner scene in this week’s episode of Black Lightning, Jennifer’s (China Anne McClain) ersatz house arrest is creating an unacknowledged tension in the Pierce house. And as this preview of next week’s episode reveals, the breaking point is coming sooner rather than later.
But its probably a good thing they finally talk about it. As Issa (Miles Truitt) made everyone aware, the Pierce family has been holding a lot in since they survived that attack last season. Anissa (Nafessa Williams) wants to spread her wings a bit, Jeff (Cress Williams) wants her to get back on the ground, Jennifer feels like a monster and Lynn (Christine Adams) wants her to clamp down the attitude. Granted, Jennifer’s always had a smart mouth, but her seemingly uncontrollable powers make it so much worse. Hopefully whatever incident she faces next week will get the ball rolling on her therapy sessions. It can only do her good. And come to think of it, the rest of the Pierces should consider counseling.
Also, not for nothing, I hope we see more of Issa. He was an interesting wrinkle in the story and had instant chemistry with Jennifer. Not necessarily of the romantic sort, mind. But certainly more interesting than what was happening with Khalil (Jordan Calloway).
