In the series, Geralt roams The Continent during a mythical medieval period. As a freelancer, he hunts legendary monsters for profit, but often finds himself involved in geopolitical upsets despite his own political neutrality as destiny hurtles him toward Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) and Ciri (Freya Allan); two of the most important people he will ever meet. The three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.
Other members of the cast include Jodhi May as Queen Calanthe, Fortitude’s Björn Hlynur Haraldsson as Eist, Adam Levy as Mousesack, MyAnna Buring as Tissaia, Mimi Ndiweni as Fringilla, Therica Wilson-Read as Sabrina, Millie Brady as Princess Renfri, Eamon Farren as Cahir, Joey Batey as Jaskier, Lars Mikkelsen as Stregobor, Royce Pierreson as Istredd, Maciej Musiał as Sir Lazlo, Wilson Radjou-Pujalte as Dara, and Anna Shaffer as Triss. Daredevil and Defenders co-executive producer Lauren Schmidt Hissrich will run the show and write the pilot script, while Alik Sakharov, Alex Garcia Lopez, and Charlotte Brändström will all direct portions of the eight-episode first season.
The Witcher will presumably debut on Netflix next year.
