Stranger Things Rings In The New Year With Cryptic Third Season Announcement Video
by Erik Amaya
Netflix chose midnight, eastern standard time, on New Year’s Day to reveal the launch date for the third season of Stranger Things: July 4th, 2019. But they also did it with a very appropriate New Year’s Eve video flashing all of us back to Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve in the magical year of 1984. Oh, also, there’s some scary monochromatic text interrupting the feed.
It is as always, unclear where the series will go, but the constant presence of Starcourt Mall in all of its pre-release hype offers one key setting for the summer where everything changes. All the major characters who survived Season 2 will return as they face another manifestation from the Upside Down. Hopefully, Steve (Joe Keery) will come out unscathed once again.
Stranger Things returns July 4th.
