Batwoman Pilot Casts Meagan Tandy, Camrus Johnson And Nicole Kang

Batwoman’s (Ruby Rose) world is finally starting to populate.
Deadline reports actors Meagan Tandy, Camrus Johnson and Nicole Kang have been cast in The CW’s Batwoman pilot. The potential series will see the title character “armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind.” Though a “highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence,” she is not quite a hero yet because “in a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.”
But as the superheroes of The CW never work alone, she will be surrounded by allies and foes. Johnson, for example, will play Luke Fox, the son of Lucius Fox who keeps Wayne Tower operational even if Bruce Wayne left Gotham City years ago. Tandy will play Sophie Moore, a private security agent with a soft spot for Batwoman’s civilian identity, Kate Kane. And Kang will play Kate’s half-sister Mary Hamilton, a social media influencer on the rise with a passion for helping Gotham’s underprivileged. All three characters have appeared in various DC Comics stories before with Luke receiving his own title, Batwing, in the early part of The New 52.
The pilot will go into production soon, but it is still unclear if or when The CW will take it to series.
