Doom Patrol Trailer Reveals Part Of DC Universe Series’ Tone
by Erik Amaya
From their debut in an early episode of DC Universe’s Titans, the Doom Patrol has been one of the most exciting live action additions to comic book television. And with one week remaining until their own series debuts, DC Universe has released a new trailer. It unveils some of the tone and a jokey meta-commentary about superhero TV shows in general. But it also teases a great dynamic between the weirdest heroes ever to grace the screen.
The series stars Brendan Fraser as Robotman, April Bowlby as Elasti-Woman, Matt Bomer as Negative Man, Diane Guerrero as Crazy Jane, Jovian Wade as Cyborg and Timothy Dalton as Dr. Niles Caulder — aka The Chief. Together, they face Alan Tudyk’s Mr. Nobody.
Based on ideas first conceived of by writers Arnold Drake, Bob Haney and Grant Morrison, Doom Patrol debuts on DC Universe next Friday.
