We Can’t Stop Thinking About Maleficent: Mistress of Evil
by Christine Marie Attardo
Yes, the Mistress of all evil, Maleficent, has been the most famous Disney villain since her origin. A black and purple cape with a dash of horns is enough to make you terrifying, but when you had her evil spirit…no one can beat Maleficent. As one of the driving forces, in the game Kingdom Hearts, I’ve loved this character for years and years.
When I first saw Angelina Jolie play the role, my love only grew stronger.
The best thing about the live-action Maleficent, was the twist that they took on the classic story. We got to dive deeper into what made her character so sinister. I don’t know about you, but I pretty much 100% took her side after seeing the film. I couldn’t be happier about the news of sequel, and the fact that the release date got moved up six plus months is incredibly exciting.
Take a look at the poster:

While the plot mostly remains a mystery, here’s the official description for Maleficent: Mistress of Evil:
A fantasy adventure that picks up several years after Maleficent, in which audiences learned of the events that hardened the heart of Disney’s most notorious villain and drove her to curse baby Princess Aurora, Maleficent 2 continues to explore the complex relationship between the horned fairy and the soon to be Queen, as they form new alliances and face new adversaries in their struggle to protect the moors and the magical creatures that reside within.
My guess is, the new adversaries might include Michelle Pfeiffer. Two powerhouse women in one film? October can’t come soon enough.
