Legion Sets A June 24th Return Date

Getting ready for your summer to include a mutant mind-warp.
FX has set Monday, June 24th as the return of Legion. The third and final season of the series will see David Haller (Dan Stevens) creating his own cult, battling old friends, and seeking out the truth about his father, Professor Charles Xavier (Harry Lloyd). But that truth may take him back into time thanks to a mutant named Switch (Lauren Tsai) with a peculiar ability to warp the fourth dimension.
“Endings are what give stories meaning,” executive producer and showrunner Noah Hawley told reporters at the Television Critics Association winter press tour back in February when asked the decision to plan the third season as its last. “On some level, the show is following the cycle of mental illness. We met David at his lowest point. He gets balanced and on his meds. He feels so good that he goes off his meds and he spirals down. That’s where he is now.” And once the third season resolves David’s downward spiral, Hawley said a subsequent season would be “starting over.”
Also, this end point was part of the plan according to executive producer Jeph Loeb. “[Noah] told us the end of the story when he told us the beginning. It makes sense,” he said, adding that he is “very comfortable” in the belief that David will appear in other Marvel projects; possibly with the original characters from Legion in tow.
