FCBD 2019: Archie Comics Shares A Preview Of The Riverdale Season 3 Special & Announces Appearances

One of the comic book industry’s biggest events, Free Comic Book Day is this Saturday, May 4th. Participating comic shops will give away selected comic books to anyone that walks through the doors. Archie Comics, one of the Gold Sponsors of Free Comic Book Day has shared a preview of their offering, the Riverdale Season 3 Special, featuring an all-new ten page story set in the world of The CW’s Riverdale TV show.
Written by Micol Ostow and illustrated by Thomas Pitilli, the Riverdale Season 3 Special delivers a never-before-seen story that showcases all-new drama and intrigue from before the current season of the TV show. The Special also includes a sneak peek at the original Riverdale novels, coming soon from Scholastic.
Additionally, Archie Comics talent will be appearing at signing events across the country. Check out the list below:

- Bill & Ben Galvan (Archie Comics Digest) – Dragons Keep in Lehi, UT from 10-11am
- Brian Augustyn (Archie 1941) – Fantastic Worlds Comics in Scottsdale, AZ from 11am-5pm
- Cullen Bunn (Blossoms 666) – The Comic Cave in Springfield, MO from 10am-6pm
- Dan Parent (Archie Meets Batman ’66) – Dewey’s Comic City in Madison, NJ from 12-5pm
- Derek Charm (Jughead’s Time Police) – The Comic Bug in Manhattan Beach, CA from 11am-4pm
- Veronica & Andy Fish (Sabrina the Teenage Witch) – Friendly Neighborhood Comics in Bellingham, MA from 9am-1pm
As a quick reminder, although the comics given away on Free Comic Book Day are free to you, they are not free for the comic shop. If you pick up some free books, please consider buying some comics, trade paperbacks, toys, or other goodies while you’re there.
