Just in case you needed another reason to visit your local comic shop on Saturday for Free Comic Book Day, Boom! Studios has shared a preview of one of its titles, the Welcome to the Whedonverse special, featuring brand new stories from three of Joss Whedon’s creations: Buffy, Angel, and Firefly.
On the Firefly side of the book, writer Greg Pak and artist Ethan Young dig into the secret origins of Boss Moon, the new character introduced in Firefly #2 that has come to make Captain Malcolm Reynolds pay for his crimes during the Unification War. We’ll learn how she was recruited by the Alliance for this hunt.
Flipping over to the Buffy side, writer Jordie Bellaire and artists Dan Mora and Serg Acuña begin a battle between the Chosen One and Angel as the Slayer makes a surprise visit to Anya’s magical emporium. She’s searching for an extremely rare and dangerous item that might be the solution for an impossible problem. Unfortunately, she’s not the only one looking for this. What happens when the Slayer, vampires, and the magic of cursed souls converge on the same place? Well, you’ll have to pick up the comic to find out.
