Kinda Funny Games Showcase has been confirmed for this year’s E3, and will be premiering on June 10th at 4:30PM Pacific. Originally launched as a way to take the place of the missing Sony PlayStation Experience, last year’s KF Games Showcase premiered nearly seventy titles in a tightly presented program that ran for about an hour and ten minutes. Offering a chance for developers to premiere their games to the YouTube group’s audience, their showcase ran the gamut from smaller titles like Operencia: The Stolen Sun to SEGA’s English announcement of Judgment and the surprise announcement that The Walking Dead video game was continuing with a new developer.
The E3 showcase has been confirmed by Kinda Funny host Greg Miller, and will make an appearance on their YouTube channel, Kinda Funny Games. If it’s anything like the December show, this will be an opportunity for smaller titles to have a chance to survive in the midst of all the E3 juggernauts being discussed over the four day show, and perhaps to sneak in another major surprise announcement or two. With Sony missing from this year’s E3, there’s suddenly a lot of room left to pick up the slack, and a lot of games in need of a place to premiere first looks and updates on awaited titles, and Kinda Funny appears able and willing to step up.
