With all the delays that have plagued the Young Animals imprint at DC Comics, maybe mini-series was the way to go from the start? Either way, it seems to be the adopted publishing plan moving forward (although with DC’s Black Label gaining momentum, how much longer has this noble experiment got left to run, I wonder?). And so we finally have the return of Gerard Way’s Doom Patrol with Doom Patrol: Weight of the World #1 out this week. Along for the ride is co-writer Jeremy Lambert and James Harvey on art as the Doom Patrol face off to new threats and new dimensions. Are you ready to expand your mind once again? Maybe after this preview, you will.
All hail the Supreme Shape! Gerard Way and the World’s Strangest Superheroes return in an all-new series that takes them beyond the borders of time and space! Featuring artwork by acclaimed cartoonist James Harvey, this issue finds the Doom Patrol facing off against the fanatical fitness fiends of planet Orbius and the Marathon Eternal! Meanwhile, Cliff Steele, formerly known as Robotman, must come to terms with his new body of flesh and bone…yet the real test turns out to be something far more frightening: his mom.
