Scenes From Lightbox Expo 2019: A Photo Gallery

by Gary Catig

This past weekend in Pasadena, the first ever LightBox Expo was held. The show is very art centric, attracting people from various fields including animation, video games and comics. It served as a great opportunity to network, catch up with colleagues and learn new illustrative techniques. Those who were there to appreciate fine art had plenty to do as well with a large artist alley to peruse and panels held by Marvel, DreamWorks and Netflix. Here are some scenes from the second day of LBX.

The vast majority of the exhibit floor was an Artist’s Alley with a smaller area featuring prominent animation studios.

LBX was a very supportive environment with blown up displays from various artists and signs with where to find them in the exhibit hall.

There were many opportunities to catch live art demonstrations by great talents like Stanley Artgerm Lau.

Finally, you can’t have an expo without panels. The same studios exhibiting also held presentations to promote their upcoming projects.
