Clover Press To Release New Edition Of The Royal Book Of Oz Via Kickstarter

The Wizard of Oz is a seminal work that has stood the test of time for over a century. It wasn’t until today that I learned it was the first in a series and that there are fourteen more books available. Clover Press is currently running a Kickstarter for a new edition of the 15th book, The Royal Book of Oz, written by Ruth Plumly Thompson with illustrations by Sara Richard and a foreword by Eric Shanower.
The story behind this book is fascinating. It was originally published in 1921, credited to the series creator, L. Frank Baum, but he died in 1919. The manuscript for The Royal Book of Oz was said to have been completed earlier. Years later the truth was revealed. Clover Press is celebrating this forgotten female author with this new edition.
The Kickstarter campaign is about two thirds of the way through its funding goal at the time of this writing. Rewards include digital and physical copies of the book, enamel pins, bumper stickers, lunch boxes, art prints, and more. It runs through September 27th, 2019.
