Bandai Namco Offers Free Copies Of Code Vein To People Willing To Donate Blood

by Sage Ashford

In one of the more interesting and clever ways to promote a game, Bandai-Namco promises anyone who’s willing to register to donate blood a free copy of their upcoming action RPG, Code Vein. This promotion was announced on Facebook, seen below:

Of course, there are some restrictions here. Anyone interested will have to pre-register, then be in a specific area during TwitchCon weekend on September 27th, so interested parties will have to already be in San Diego, CA. Nonetheless, this is an excellent usage of their platform, and quite fitting considering the game in question. Code Vein is set in the future, where something known as The Thorns of Judgment have destroyed most of the world. In the land of “Vein”, humans have transformed into vampires and they battle against each other for dwindling supplies of blood.  Those unable to attain the blood risk losing their minds, turning into feral vampires.

Originally announced back during 2017, Code Vein’s first release date was meant to be 2018, but the game received a one year delay.  No one is sure what caused this delay, but many presume it was Fall 2018’s stacked line-up that lead Bandai-Namco to decide they didn’t want any part of that.  This year is easier, as they don’t have to compete with Assassin’s Creed, Spider-Man, Red Dead Redemption 2, and more.  With the Trial Edition having gone decently enough, Code Vein hopefully has a much better chance of doing better this year.

Code Vein releases on Steam, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on September 27th.
