Harley Quinn Goes Ronin in Birds of Prey Trailer
by Erik Amaya
Warner Bros. has finally released a trailer for Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emaciation of One Harley Quinn). In it, Harley announces her separation from the Joker — presumably the version last seen in Suicide Squad — but notes a harlequin is back-up. Without a leader, she is, herself, a wandering spirit. But Gotham City mob boss Roman Sionis — aka Black Mask — thinks he may the be the sort of take control and possession of Harley. Is such a thing possible? And why does Gotham City suddenly look like Los Angeles? Take a look at the trailer and make your own guesses.
Birds of Prey stars Margot Robbie, returning as Harley Quinn, with Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Jurnee Smollett-Bell joining the DC film family as Huntress and Black Canary. Rosie Perez will also make her mark as the big screen’s Renee Montoya. Ewan McGregor takes on the role of Sionis, whose interests in the group seem to go beyond making Harley his pet. It’s already clear he’ll fail, but watching Harley’s journey from grief to freedom will be worth watching, we think.
Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) is set for release on February 7th, 2020.
