NYCC 2019: A Better First Look At New YA Graphic Novels From DC Comics
by Olly MacNamee
Covered by Comicon.com’s very own James Ferguson over the weekend, DC Comics announced their schedule for further YA original graphic novels and shared new art with the New York fans. No slouches in the promotion department, DC Comics are already sharing the artwork over on their website now, which gives us all a better first look at the artwork and character designs for some of the forthcoming graphic novels in the collection.
First up we have art from Shadow of the Batgirl (by author Sarah Kuhn and artist Nicole Goux), which features Cassandra Cain.
Next up, we have unlettered page from Teen Titans: Beast Boy, the follow up to Kami Garcia (Beautiful Creatures) and artist Gabriel Picolo’s, Teen Titans: Raven (that announced a fourth printing recently).
And, as an extra bonus, the panellists showed off some concept art for Zatanna: The Jewel of Gravesend, written by Alys Arden and illustrated by Jacquelin De Leon.
NYCC may be over for another year, but there’s still going to be a lot to share for a good few days yet. As ever, keep ’em peeled for more right here at Comicon.com.
