Tom Ellis Ends “Crisis” Casting Rumor

by Erik Amaya

Fans of Lucifer will have to wait until its next season to see star Tom Ellis in the role again. He is not in “Crisis on Infinite Earths.”
The actor told Entertainment Tonight that he was visiting a friend in Vancouver and not playing the Prince of Darkness in a special cameo for the upcoming Arrowverse crossover. “Hard pass, sorry… Sorry fans,” he added. Over the last week of so, Ellis’s visit to Vancouver fueled speculation his Lucifer might say a clever word or two in the crossover event, which spans five of the six CW series, features Black Lightning (Cress Williams) in his first Arrowverse outing, and will host a number of familiar faces from the DC TV past like Burt Ward, Birds of Prey‘s Ashley Scott, and Kevin Conroy. A popular Twitter account focused on production happenings in Vancouver ran with the speculation, leading many to believe and hope Ellis would be another one of those people making a special drop-in. And with word that Stephen Lobo has been cast as Jim Corrigan for a “Crisis” appearance, the completely supernatural Lucifer didn’t seem so out of bounds.
Of course, there is always the possibility Ellis has to emphatically deny his cameo to maintain the surprise, but we tend to believe a firm no in situations like this.
“Crisis” begins December 8th on The CW.
