Dynamite Celebrates 15th Anniversary With New Humble Bundle

by James Ferguson

Dynamite Entertainment continues to celebrate its 15th anniversary this year, now with a special Humble Bundle offering nearly 12,000 pages of content and an exclusive story. I love these bundles as they offer a huge amount of content at a pay-what-you-want price and it’s tied to charity too. In this case, a portion of the proceeds goes towards the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund.
This bundle has a little bit of everything and it’s fitting for Dynamite’s anniversary. It includes the very first comic it ever published: Army of Darkness: Ashes 2 Ashes #1 by Andy Hartnell and Nick Bradshaw. Other titles include the earliest Dynamite Red Sonja series, Project Superpowers, the Chaos! event, Swords of Sorrow, and The Boys, plus recent hits like the new Vampirella and Peter Cannon: Thunderbolt.
Charles Brownstein, CBLDF Executive Director says:

Driven by an authentic and sincere passion for the comics medium, Dynamite creates entertaining comics for a wide range of readers. We’re grateful to receive their support, which allows us to create valuable programs that ensure a strong future for comics. Here’s to 15 years and many, many, many more!

This bundle also includes an exclusive Army of Darkness story from writer Scott Duvall and artists Edu Menna and Jordan Michael Johnson. Ash Williams heads to a book signing to promote his new autobiography when a fan shows up with a different book for him to sign. You can probably guess where this is going.
Writer Scott Duvall says:

Getting to play in Ash’s world is always a blast, so I was thrilled to be invited back to tell another Army of Darkness tale. The fact that my good friend Kelley Allen of Humble Bundle got to join Ash on his adventure and that this bundle helps benefit the CBLDF makes it all the groovier! Thanks to Nick Barrucci and the whole team at Dynamite as well as Humble for making this happen.

This is a really fun new spin on the Humble Bundle. There have been a number of comic bundles over the past few years and short of adding more and more comics, what else can you really do to make it interesting? By including an exclusive story, it encourages folks to kick in a few bucks even to just check out that one tale.
Nick Barrucci, Dynamite CEO and Publisher says:

It has been a long and exciting road over these past 15 years, with plenty of challenges and proud achievements, and I can honestly say we’re only just getting warmed up. Through Dynamite, we’ve had the chance to work with countless talented creators and franchises. From The Boys, to Vampirella and Red Sonja, to Nancy Drew and Atari, we’re always striving to deliver the most enjoyable stories for fans. This bundle encompasses as much of that tapestry as we could stuff in it, and we’re proud to be offering it alongside our buddies at Humble Bundle and the CBLDF.
