Vault Comics have announced a new bizarro series from Justin Richards, Val Halvorson, Rebecca Nalty and Taylor Esposito. I’ll let the solicitations for issue #1 do the talking:
In Finger Guns, two troubled teenagers discover they can manipulate emotions by firing finger guns. There will be laughs. There will be tears. There will be uncomfortable teen feelings and angst. Oh yeah.. And chaos. So much chaos.
Sounds a bit strange doesn’t it? If Vertigo or Black Crown were still aliens and kicking, this would be juts the tight fit for either of these imprints. But, thankfully Vault Comics is the new home or the weird and wonderful.
Writer, Richardson, describes where the concept originally came from, Seems it was all a dream:
I had a dream that I could control emotions by pointing a finger gun at someone. This happened right as I was trying to decide if writing comics was a career I was capable of pursuing. I woke up and thought, ‘Okay, what did my brain just give me to work with? Did it hand me a masterpiece filled to the brim with brilliant plot twists and subversive narrative threads, the likes of which no one has ever seen? No. It gave me Finger Guns.’
Here’s your first look at Finger Guns #1 out February 2020 from Vault Comics:
